A movie about Oksana Shachko: “Oxana” will be released on April 16, 2025

Oksana was not just a co-founder of FEMEN. She was a symbol of struggle, radical feminism, and an unbreakable belief in freedom. Her performances, which shocked the world, exposed the hypocrisy of the authorities and the violence of the patriarchal system. But behind the bright actions was an incredible price: exile, repression, and betrayal. The world turned out to be crueler than she could have imagined.

French director Charlene Favier, known for her film Slalom, has made an honest and painful portrait of Oksana, a girl who risked everything for justice but could not bear the indifference and betrayal of the world.

The film tells the story of the FEMEN movement, its origins in Ukraine in 2008, its fight against corrupt regimes, violence against women and religious oppression. It shows the path of Oksana: from the first protests in Kyiv to political exile in France, her life as a refugee, art as protest and fatal loneliness.

Starring: Albina Korzh, Maryna Koshkina, Lada Korovai.
The film will premiere in cinemas on April 16, 2025.

This story is important. Not only because Oksana was one of us. But because she paid the ultimate price for her struggle. We have no right to forget.
